| The True Gentleman
The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.
-John Walter Wayland (Virginia 1899)

| so today me and my friend Greg Oh were talking in english class about this book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Johnathan Safran Foer. Its very philosophical in its concepts and there was this one quote about the world and how (this isn't exact) "It's not a horrible world, but it's filled with a lot of horrible people."
Me and Greg were discussing about how this quote ment to us. He interpeted the quote as being the world itself was comprised as people and that if there were no people the world would be a very lonely place. I interpreted it as that the world was a place and that horrible people who inhabit this place is causing it to be mirrored as a horrible place. We went back and forth concluding that this quote was very philosophical and tiring to talk about any more and moved onto the next given quote to attack and batter untill it was interpreted and analyzed to death.
However, that quote just kept me thinking that if we were to eliminate all the horrible people in the world...there wouldn't be anyone left; because there is no such thing as a nice person. Oh! and by the way, in art I have a 30 hour piece and im scared of it. *gulp*

I MADE THREE AMAZING PICTURES ON THE WALL I felt so special ahh today was so much fun! i missed half of my afternoon classes and at one point we even had to draw with our feet! it was sort of gross because this kid Craig had webbed toes but other than that it was THE BEST day id say for this whole week so far! I'm so happy and hyper and I really should get started on my homework but im just so happy and ADD I can't! alright so today was my exciting day. thee end.
